COVID-19 Updates

05/10/2020

Hello All,

Just wanted to give you an update to the current happenings in the soccer world.

Your last update notified you that all play is suspended and postponed.

This is still the case for all soccer in the entire state of NM. There is no change to the Governor's order so there will be no change for soccer in any club or league.

The Spring 2020 Season remains postponed (NOT Cancelled, yet). The leagues we play in will determine how to adjust a Spring season (if at all possible) and will be in touch when the Governor allows youth sports to return.

Please understand at this point our number 1 concern is trying hard to make Corrales Soccer still viable (both financially and practically) and able to return.

Also, in the meantime we are hard at work setting up our (possible) Summer League, Lobo Camp, and our Fall NWRGSL / DCSL registeration so we will not be behind the curve when we can finally return.

Thank you all for your continued support!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Re:       COVID-19 Coronavirus – New Mexico Youth Soccer Association Update

 Important Update

Based on the latest information from our national governing bodies, the CDC, Whitehouse and New Mexico State and City governments, effective immediately, New Mexico Youth Soccer Association is suspending all soccer activity including trainings, practices, league play and all sanctioned travel until further notice.  Please note, the NMYSA liability and Secondary Accident Insurance does not cover unsanctioned activities.

It is important that we remain united for the future sustainability of youth soccer in our local areas.  We are hopeful that these recent actions will lessen the overall length of postponements and allow us to readily move forward once the restrictions are lifted.  We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in this matter and will continue to do our best for the soccer communities we serve.  Please continue to check for COVID-19 updates on our website at www.nmysa.net.  You may also contact our office at the number or emails below.

The USSF also recommends:
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
STAY home when you are sick
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue then throw away the tissue in the trash
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
Follow the CDC’s recommendation for use of a facemask
CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including Coronavirus. Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms to help prevent the spread of the disease.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for a least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
